When she goes to get proof that her son existed, she can’t find any.
Ruby Gentry: Turgid, strolling account of simple-quality Southerner Jones wedding prosperous Malden to spite Heston, the guy she cherishes Cast includes Jennifer Jones, Charlton Heston, Karl Malden, and Josephine Hutchinson. (82 minutes, 1952)
Hanky Panky: Blameless designer Crazier is pursued by snoops, cops, etc. Unsurprising, hardly ludicrous comedy-thriller, with Radner miscast as the love interest. The film was meant to be a follow-up to Mix Insane, although Richard Pryor’s part was revised for Gilda. You’ve seen it all before, and more superior. Cast includes Gene Crazier, Gilda Radner, Kathleen Quinlan, Richard Widmark, Robert Prosky, Josef Sommer, and Johnny Sekka. (88 minutes, 1982)
The Accused: Young Sarah Tobias is gang raped by three boys at The Mill, a local bar. Everyone in the bar sees the event, but instead of stopping it they cheer the boys on. We then follow the investigation of the events, and Sarah’s attempt to deal with how she is treated for being raped.
