All About Lion Tattoo Designs

It is quite amazing when you hear a lion roar. The sound that they make is undeniably very frightening and very loud. For thousands of years, the lion has been worshiped for its courage, strength and power. Lions have been found through out many different cultures representing these very attributes.

The lion can also be found being used through out history as a royal symbol. This is most likely due to the fact that the lion is the “King of Beasts” and is looked upon as royalty among other animals.

Often times, when people decide to get a lion tattoo design, they usually go for a realistic looking one. You can get a lion that looks calm and peaceful or you can get one that looks mean as it bears its teeth in a thunderous roar. A good artist will be able to provide you with a realistic looking lion design in any pose that you desire.

You can have just about any size when it comes to lion tattoos. Maybe you would like to get a tattoo that is just a picture of the lions head. Or maybe you would like to get the animals whole body inked. A lion tattoo can also come in any size, from just a couple inches big to covering your whole back or chest, it is all just about your preference.

Lion tattoos don’t have to be complicated, they can be simple as well. A one color lion tattoo can look really good when done right. However, I find that they lion tattoos that utilize a lot of color look best. The colors can add impact and drama to the lions skin, eyes, mane and teeth.

To make your lion stand out even more, you may decide to add a background to the design as well. Drawing in an jungle or African plains in the background can add some more flair to the design.

The bigger and more intricate the design of your tattoo is, the more you will end up paying for it. Also the more colors that you use for your tattoo, the more money you will be charged for it. If what you want is a large lion with a natural background, be prepared to pay for it.

Lion tattoos can be a very effective way of producing a symbol of power and strength. They are very gorgeous looking animals, yet very dangerous at the same time. So with the right design and the right artist, you can be well on your way to displaying this symbol of courage and strength on your skin. You will be in good company since the lion has stood for those two things for thousands of years already.
