Basics in Selling Your Crafts
Ive met a lot of talented individuals whose creativity oozes out with the way they talk and do their thing. They are people who like to do their thing apart from anything else in the world. Some of them does not only start in making their stuffs to keep it or give it away as presents; they are also starting to sell them. They have come to terms on getting to the next level.
If youre a creative person or crafter and would like to transform your hobby into a business, then there are some tips on how you can get started. First step is you need to establish a name and logo for your business. A word of advice: consider the product youre selling as it has to coincide with your name and logo. A good business name and logo should also give a hint on what kind of product youre selling.
Next is to check out the local listings in your neighborhood to see the schedules of craft fairs or craft shows. Your goal here is to participate in these events by having an exhibit or booth dedicated to your crafts. You may get the contact persons in charge of the exhibitors and get in touch with them as to how you can be part of their fair. Remember to take note of some policies that they may bring up.
Consider your products prices and payment terms. You may want to give off specific discounts for customers willing to buy your crafts wholesale. Take into consideration also the product warranty and shipping charges just in case a customer wants her purchase to be delivered at home.
Last is to relax and get a good nights sleep before the event. Fairs can be pretty tiring especially if its your first time to participate. Nevertheless, expect to have lots of fun and learning as you become a full pledged businesswoman!
