Boss Effects Pedals – Still Number One
Guitarists have not been content with the sound alone produced by a guitar for some time now. And why would they when effects pedal are not only at their disposal but so easily accessible? 1973, Boss launched the first effects pedal and have continued to lead the market ever since. They have released a range of products but are best known for their effects pedals.
1976 saw the introduction of the very first Boss pedal which was the CE-1 Chorus. It was bundled with an AC adapter and at the time was the most sought after effects pedal. Boss was responsible for each time a new guitar sound could be heard. Once the sound changed once again, in the 1980s, there came the flanger pedal followed by the delay pedal. Now, Boss effects pedals are world renowned and are used by professional guitarists in any genre and in any part of the world.
Their most popular effects pedals are overdrive and distortion. Hard rock and heavy metal guitarists produce a sound which is today attributed to Boss. Any guitarist playing in this genre will use a Boss effects pedal in their performance.
Many who try other effects pedals ultimately return to Boss due to their sturdy build and their ability to produce such a distinct sound. Every budding young guitarist is looking for their “sound” and Boss effects pedals allow them to experiment and do just that.
Bright colours and sturdy design are the hallmarks of Boss effects pedals. There is bound to be a colour to match your guitar and their build can withstand a heavy touring schedule and the pounding afflicted by heavy stomping. Their newer designs have remained faithful to that of their old designs so whenever a guitar player purchases a new effects pedal from Boss, there’s a familiar look to match that familiar feel and quality.
