Gay Tourism Guide, Tulum
Without a doubt, Mexico is a top spot for a vacation. This is a great place, and not only to catch up with the sun on the beach. Some popular locations like Tulum combine history and fantastic beaches to enjoy truly amazing vacations.
Tulum has both a historical spin and a beautiful beach coast. It is located just south of Playa del Carmen and Akumai. Perched on the breathtaking limestone cliffs that overlook the Caribbean ocean you’ll find Tulum.
Tulum is a very good combination of history and Mexico’s beaches are well known. Instead of traveling all over to see different sites, you’ll get to have both kinds of experiences in the same area.
History is important in Tulum. The archeological site here was built between 1200 and 1450. It is clouded in mystery, as are all Mayan ruins.
It was a trading post due to its location off the water. The city’s skyscraper El Castillo is used as a lighthouse to help and direct travelers through the reefs.
The wall surrounded the city in all the three sides this scenario was unique. This wall is seven meters thick and up to five meters tall. The wall has a walkway that was used by warriors in their defense of the city. The remaining side of the city is protected by the sea.
Today 60 buildings still stand at the site, which are all open for touring. Plaques adorn the walls to guide visitors, this allows for a self guided tour of the ruins.
There are excellent beaches in Tulum, just as you would hope for a visit to Mexico’s coast. They are among the world’s top scenic beaches, and tourists travel from all accross the globe to see them.
The beaches feature turquoise water and white sands. It is the typical beach you would expect in paradise.
Tulum’s reef is part of the Great Mayan Reef which spreads from Cancun, Mexico, to Roatan, Honduras, and which is the second biggest in the world. It is 1000 kilometers with 120 kilometers at the Tulum beach.
Like to provide opportunities in the sea off the beach and see eighty four types of people, fish and other sea creatures of more than 450 varieties of coral. It is a true adventure.
Tulum is an area of Mexico that is quiet, beautiful and offers plenty to keep you busy. You will never forget your stop in Tulum because it is such a rich place to visit.
