How to design digital scrapbook pages for a trip to the zoo

When I start designing my digital scrapbook pages, I first need to decide what type of project I will be creating. For this article we will discuss designing digital scrapbook pages for one specific event, such as going to the zoo with the family.

How to design digital scrapbook pages step #1: Narrow down your pictures The first step in designing your digital scrapbook pages is to go through all the pictures you took and pick out your favorites. I love my using my digital camera, but I always take way too many pictures. This way when I get home and can see the pictures more clearly, I can pick out my favorite pictures instead of being stuck with only 1 option.

How to design digital scrapbook pages step #2: Sort your pictures Once youve narrowed down your photo selection, start sorting the pictures according to some sort of similarity. Since were using the example of a trip to the zoo, you could sort the pictures according to either who or what animal is in the pictures.

How to design digital scrapbook pages step #3: Decide on the number of pages Once youve sorted your pictures, youll quickly be able to decide on how many pages youll want to use in your project. I will usually figure on using an average of 3 pictures per page. (Some will only have 1 picture, but others will have up to 6)

How to design digital scrapbook pages step #4: Figure out your layouts Once you know the number of pages, and which pictures youre going to use, you can start creating your layouts based on the pictures in each group. I like having a couple pages with 1 main picture, leading to pages with 5 or 6 pictures. And once you know how many pictures will be on a page, its much easier to create a layout.

How to design digital scrapbook pages step #5: Adding your embellishments Once you have your pictures laid out the way you like, you can go back through and add your embellishments. Just remember that youll want to balance out the number of embellishments according to the number of pictures on your page. If I use a lot of pictures on a particular page, Im only going to use a couple embellishments. Otherwise, my pages become too crowded, and the pictures get lost in all the clutter.

And that is a quick and easy way of designing digital scrapbook pages for a trip to the zoo.
