Just Got Em – Didn’t Know What I Was Missing On My PC – Wireless Home Stereo Review
Everything is well designed and well-constructed. It all feels very solid. If I did this, I could not hear the TV. The Sennheiser RD180 has solved all our problems.
It is for these two reasons that I was curious to see if Sennheiser had a solution to the line out idea. I called Sennheiser and spoke to someone who said that the 180′s do have this feature.
That said, contrary to how these headphones are described on Amazon, these headphones DON’T have “dynamic surround sound.” I wish they did and I wonder why they don’t, as the lower-level Model RS 170 headphones have surround sound.
The volume up and down are aligned left and right of each other, but there is a power button in the middle – making it easy to turn off. To make it more complicated, these 3 buttons are all unique sizes and shapes from one another, and don’t feel like arrows or anything relative to what their function is. They just take some getting used to. All things considered, I highly recommend them. With a bit more smarts, the headphones could be made to standby in a low power mode, then ramp up when it detected a signal from the transmitter. Maybe that’s too much to ask for the price.
Living in a one bedroom apartment, it’s awesome to sleep in peace and quiet, while not forcing boyfriend to keep quiet as a mouse as he stays up late. I’ve owned these cans for a month now, and I can say this headphone is not bad. Control buttons are very close together and when first using them, you tend to push the wrong ones quite a bit. I consider this a minor inconvenience since after a bit of practice you can determine which buttons you want to use/adjust by feel.
On the RS140s, the volume was just a scroll wheel that could be easily located and adjusted quickly, for instance, when you want to shut up “Crazy Larry’s” TV commercial. The sound is not well-suited to TV listening either. This is a complaint I’ve had in other headphones that either didn’t have enough padding in the headband, or the ear cups, or were not adjustable enough. Perfectly surrounds your ears (as opposed to ‘open-air’ which press against your ears), and the headband is thickly padded.
That’s what I wanted to do with this purchase, so mission accomplished. I have a friend that has an older set (HDR 130) of these head phones and I tried them out. So I bought these because the RF headset that I normally use was starting to break down physically. I had used it for years with no real problem. When they’re ready, start the source, hold down the button on the base for a few seconds until it blinks, and hold down the button on your headphone for a few seconds. They handle sound-levels so well that you might be a little deceived. My main caveat about this is mostly about me. I have a wireless desktop, wireless mouse, and wireless keyboard.
I have no issues with them. Apparently, there’s supposed to be another equalizer setting with each option. PANASONIC WIRELESS HEADPHONES. But what was truly the most unexpected surprise is the bass. They have the longest cord That I have ever seen, they reach across my large family room. Cordless Stereo Headphones.
