Leveling A Priest – Before You Start Leveling, Read This

Interested in leveling a Priest? The Priest is an essential class to any grouping, every group always needs a healer. But the Priest is not limited only to healing, you can have a lot of fun killing enemies with your offensive spells as well.

If you’re considering giving the Priest a go though, it would be helpful for you to get a few tips before you start, these should help you on your way:

When you are leveling a Priest, you’ll find you have access to 2 spells, one defensive one offensive. You will make use of Lesser Heal when you are low on hit points and use Smite to pelt enemies from a distance. If necessary you can use your melee attack as well.

Of course it’s better you use a wand instead of a melee attack, so when you can, be sure to pick one up.

Once you reach level 4, you’re going to gain access to Shadow Word: Pain, the Warlock isn’t the only class with DOTs. Once you have this, be sure to cast it on each enemy you encounter to start the battle off. If the DOT wears off and the enemy is still alive, remember to add it back.

Upon reaching level 6 you will be able to use the spell Power Word: Shield. This will shield you from a set amount of damage and will prevent your spells from being interrupted by the enemy. Use this as frequently as possible.

Upon reaching level 8 you will be able to cast both Fade and Renew. Renew is a step above lesser Heal in terms of strength of healing and Fade will allow you to cut down on your aggro.

Once you’re level 10, you will gain access to Resurrection and Mind Blast. Resurrection is going to help others in your group who need to be resurrected and Mind Blast will be an offensive spell for you that deals Shadow damage.

From here, you can head towards the main city for your race and get some more powerful equipment. If you need any more help leveling a Priest past what this guide has provided, it’s best you find a guide that goes into detail past level 10.
