Taylor Swift’s musical ability is uncommon for her youth, and her songs have taken the country music world by storm and created millions of fans with her blend of pop-country. As one of the youngest songwriters to achieve so much success, her first headlining concert tour has generated excitement across the country. This year’s tour includes a show in Dallas, expected to be one of the biggest shows of the season.

Although Swift’s immediate success is uncommon, the girl from Pennsylvania has, at nineteen years old, broken through after beginning her career in karaoke and theatre groups when she was just a child. Her talent was evident even as a youth.

When Taylor had reached age twelve, she was playing guitar and she was writing music, so when she released her first smash country single, a ballad of teenage heartbreak titled “Tim McGraw”, it was not as much of a surprise to those who already knew her. What was a surprise was the incredible success of the single, rising through the country charts and hitting number six. Her current album, “Fearless”, dominated the same Nashville charts and also found its way onto the mainstream Top 40 charts as well.

Now Taylor Swift is headlining her first tour, one of the youngest artists to ever get top billing in so many huge venues. Some are predicting Swift will be near the top in concert tour earnings this year, with her show back on May 22 in Los Angeles’ Staples Center selling out in two minutes and almost every show selling out weeks before the date of the concert. Frequently compared to Carrie Underwood, the beautiful young music prodigy Swift has risen to heights not seen in country music since Garth Brooks even without Underwood’s American Idol exposure.

The Dallas concert will be held in the American-Airlines Center, a venue familiar to the city’s NBA and NHL Fans. It is one of the largest venues in Texas, and even with such a large venue, tickets for this show sold out almost immediately.

Although Dallas is a regular stop for a lot of major concerts, Taylor’s first tour has generated a buzz in the city and fans are excited to see her show in September.
