I don’t care what people tell you, learning how to play the guitar is easy. Well,At least the idea part of it is no to difficult. The true difficult part of learning how to play the guitar is learning finger memory, and building finger strength and speed.

The fastest way to learn finger memory, and gaining finger speed and strength, is to do drills that specifically target each one of these skills. The more you do these exercises the better you will become. After you are kick ass you can go get personalized guitar strap to match your image.

google search some drills that focus on the different skills essential to becoming good.At first you will want to focus on training each skill separately with a focused drill. This will help you in the long run as it will provide a solid foundation. Make sure that you have some drills that focus on finger speed and strength. These two skills are why players who have played for a while make it look effortless.

The next thing that you will write on your to do list is to get scale tabs online and start mastering them. These can be a lot of fun. The more scales you can master the better. Try different types of movements. Use chromatic, flat, minor scales and everything else your can think of. It will greatly help you improv abilities later. It will also improve your finger coordination on the fret board. You will also have to begin strengthening your fret hand for bar chording. This will be hard and painful at first as you most likely are not strong enough to do it properly. This skill comes with time and practice.

This will also be a problem with the ends of your fingers that you use to press down the strings. It will take some time to develop calusses so this does not hurt if you play for any length of time. Keep practicing and you will get it.

Now that you have conquered the necessary motor skills, it is time to talk about music theory. Don’t just graze over this stuff. Take the time to learn it and it will go a long way to feeding your enjoyment of playing. Just a couple hours a week will allow you to figure out how to improve with other plays as well as create better more sophisticated music.
