Established in 1989 in Texas by Bill Collings, Collings Guitars, had the vision of producing custom handmade guitars that would sound incredible. Each of their steel string instruments are recommended by amateur and professional artists alike around the world. Well known artists such as Keith Richards, Joni Mitchell and Brian May having all enjoyed using these instruments.

Here is a brief overview of what it is that makes the instruments so special:

Acoustic, Electric and Archtop Guitars – They have over 20 different series of guitar many of which use popular guitar shapes and styles and bring something new to them with their handmade attention to detail. An example of this is; the acoustic D Series – a square-shouldered 14 fret dreadnought which although not an unusual design, has new tonal quality and depth not usually associated with a large, deep-bodied instrument such as this.

Mandolins – Each mandolin is made with the best possible tone, playability and ‘fit and finish’ in mind and means each model is stunning in every aspect. Created with high-quality eastern maple and spruce Collings mandolins are hand crafted in Austen, TX. There 12 different mandolin models to choose from and some of these are the instrument of choice with renown jazz mandolin player Don Steinberg, Leftover Salmon frontman Vince Herman and Jesse Cobb of The Infamous Stringdusters.

Ukuleles – they manufacture these typically folk instruments to create something modern and sophisticated. Each ukulele has been put under the same attention and care as every Collings produced instrument with beautiful results. There are 10 ukulele models and popular details in these designs include; mahogany body and neck, lacquer finish, rosewood fretboard and geared tuning pegs.
