Toronto Events – Fun Things to Do around The City

Considering heading off on a trip to Toronto? Well you’re in luck. Canada’s largest city is a unique and interesting one, with a variety of options for local entertainment whether you prefer the arts, live music, sports or tasty culinary treats.

Perhaps one of Canada’s most famous hockey teams, the Toronto Maple Leafs are the proud winners of more than a dozen Stanley Cup Championships. They are also dead rivals with the Montreal Canadiens, so try not to miss this epic match-up.

Canada’s Football League, the CFL, has a franchise team in Toronto called the Argonauts. If you’re visiting from the United States, you might find it interesting to watch a CFL game, as there are a number of different rules, including a longer field.

The Toronto Raptors is Canada’s only professional basketball team. In their early years, they struggled before signing Vince Carter, but now find themselves as worthy contenders in the National Basketball Association.

If you’re staying downtown on your vacation, you’ll find that the most high profile events in town will come through the Air Canada Centre on Bay Street. An impressive venue, the ACC (as it’s known locally) is the best place to find top shelf sporting events and big names musical acts.

Shopping in Toronto is one of best ways to spend your time. You will most certainly find all the Armani, Gucci and Prada you can handle down on Yonge street and Bloor Street, so bring an extra suitcase.

Dining in Toronto can be quite a sumptuous experience. If you’re looking to treat your palate, make your reservations early at Canoe, Splendido or Via Allegro…all very fine restaurants.

So now that you’ve decided to take an interesting Vacation to Toronto, be sure to plan your schedule accordingly, as there are plenty of things to do and see in the fine city. Bon voyage!
