U-Kiss’s “Shut Up” Making A Splash In The Kpop World This October

Last year, kpop sensations U-Kiss released their single “Man Man Hani” which was an instant success. Since then, the group has pretty much remained silent. Last week, however, they finally made their comeback with their newest song “Shut Up,” which is sure to be a huge success. Here are a few things you need to know about the song and video:

1) There’s a very funky choice in wardrobe for the music video to this song. There are many scenes in which the members are wearing full-white suits and dancing on a subway platform, but there are other scenes in which one of the members wears what can only be described as a man-bra. Surely the people responsible for the wardrobe wanted to show off their abs, but going shirtless would have been a much better idea.

2) The girl in the video is supposedly a Brazilian model. She definitely does not look Korean. What’s interesting about her acting in the video is that she is smiling for the entirety of it. This is interesting because, according to the lyrics, all of the members are ripping into her, and telling her how much they hate her. Why would she be smiling for the entire video then? Our best guess is because she’s Brazilian and doesn’t speak any Korean.

3) YouTube has flagged the video as inappropriate, and the only way to view the video is if you are signed into YouTube and over 19 years old. There is a lot of speculation as to why the video has been flagged, but people’s best guess is because in the video men are seductively caressing each other’s faces while dancing around shirtless and sweaty. Supposedly U-Kiss will release a clean version of the video shortly.

Regardless of the curiosities of this video, “Shut Up” by U-Kiss will surely be successful in the kpop world, as the song is quite catchy, in a Matrix soundtrack kind of way. The dance is also quite easy to imitate, and will surely be a hit on the dance floors this Fall.
